Product Manager
Fast growing interconnect distributor is now searching for a dynamic individual to assist our Materials Manager and support the product management and marketing of our electronic connector offering.
Job Description
The product manager role oversees sales and maintenance of specific products within CDM’s offerings to promote continued growth in sales and service. The product manager is essential to establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers to achieve best value for CDM and its customers. The ideal individual is results driven, creative, and self-motivated.
Duties To Include
- Ensure integrity of product information including, cost, resale, lead-times, descriptions, etc.
- Manage internal quote system by providing sales team timely responses to provide customers best quality service. With continual evaluation of win/loss assessments.
- Manage daily product activities including create and load part masters and bill of materials.
- Develop and maintain close relationship with suppliers to negotiate best purchase cost and secure/develop new opportunities for growth.
- Develop clear knowledge and understanding of identified product and suppliers which includes knowledge of competitive suppliers and products.
- Provide technical support for customers and training for sales team.
- Monitor inventory levels which includes evaluating and updating reorder points and processing stock rotations to achieve optimal inventory value.
- Review and manage WIP and backlog to ensure ideal product progress.
- Provide management with applicable reports and evaluation of product and sales.
- Assist marketing team to generate product promotions and maintain up to date electronic catalogs of product.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience with interconnect and electro-mechanical products, i.e. circular & rectangular connectors, I/O connectors, RF connectors, DIN, backplanes & associated cable assemblies, preferred.
- Counterfeit Product Avoidance
- CDM counterfeit prevention measures align and are consistent with the intent of SAE standard AS5553 and procedure 3 .0-1 Purchasing, Vendor Evaluation and Counterfeit Product Avoidance.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Sales experience with a technical background a huge plus.
- Ability to work within a team and independently.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and multi-task.
- Experience with pricing, purchasing and inventory management preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft – Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint required
- Some travel required
Compensation
- Starting at $65,000 based on experience.
